Arquivet sells food and accessories for several companion animal species. Its brand name does not stand for one recipe or one set of ingredients. This profile examines Original Adult Chicken and Rice for dogs and compares its label with the Fresh Chicken Super Premium Chicken and Rice product. Both titles mention chicken and rice, but the formulas are different. Identifying the exact range prevents comparisons based solely on packaging or front-of-bag wording.

In Original Adult Chicken and Rice, the maker declares meat and animal by-products 30%, including chicken 4%. This is followed by corn, wheat, vegetable by-products —beet pulp 1.5% and carob pod 1.5%—, chicken fat, rice 4%, barley, minerals and vitamins. The 30% is a combined meat and by-product category, not pure chicken. Similarly, rice in the title is present at 4%, and is not the only grain: corn, wheat and barley also occur. The ingredient list is more revealing than a short product claim.

“By-products” groups raw materials and does not by itself specify every animal species from which they come. If a food reaction is being investigated, this formula, with a broad meat category and several grains, should not be assumed to contain just one protein. A veterinarian should guide an elimination diet. Another Arquivet product, Original Lamb and Rice, also lists chicken fat according to its official sheet. Switching the animal named on the bag therefore does not guarantee that chicken is absent. Base a decision on the full composition of the actual pack.

The official Original Adult Chicken and Rice analysis lists protein 26%, fat 14%, fibre 2.9%, ash 8.2% and moisture 9%. These are analytical constituents, distinct from ingredient percentages. For example, “chicken 4%” does not mean “protein 4%”. The maker also lists added vitamins and minerals. Matching protein percentages across two foods do not establish identical protein sources or identical energy content. To assess a serving, consider the dog's life stage, weight, activity and changes in body condition over time.

The Fresh Chicken Super Premium Chicken and Rice formula differs. The maker lists fresh chicken meat 22% first, followed by corn, chicken meal, rice, chicken oil and wheat. Fish meal and egg are also present although neither appears in the product name. Its published analysis lists protein 26%, fat 16% and moisture 9%. Do not directly equate the 22% fresh chicken, weighed before processing, with the 4% chicken included within the broader Original meat category. Those declarations use different structures and initial water contents. Neither percentage, taken alone, is a sensible feeding decision.

Arquivet advises dividing a daily serving into two or three meals, adjusting the amount for activity, breed and environment, providing clean water and keeping the bag closed in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from sunlight. Count treat calories too. Introduce changes gradually so tolerance can be observed; persistent digestive trouble or poor appetite deserves veterinary advice.
